Shockwave is most often used for chronic tendon and soft-tissue conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles or patellar tendinopathy, tennis elbow, calcific shoulder tendinitis, hip bursitis, and persistent muscle trigger points.

Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that delivers focused acoustic pulses to injured tissue to stimulate circulation, promote tissue repair, and reduce pain. At All Well Life, Shockwave is offered as part of our integrated approach to musculoskeletal care, often alongside Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, or Kinesiology.

Non-Invasive Relief for Chronic, Stubborn Pain
Shockwave Therapy (extracorporeal shockwave therapy) is commonly used for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles and patellar tendinopathy, tennis and golfer’s elbow, shoulder calcific tendinitis, and chronic muscle trigger points. Each pulse encourages the body’s natural healing response in tissue that has stalled in the recovery process.
Sessions are short — usually 10–15 minutes of treatment — and no anesthetic or downtime is required. Your practitioner will assess your condition first and recommend a course of treatment, typically 3–6 sessions spaced about a week apart, integrated with your broader care plan.

Good to Know
What conditions can Shockwave Therapy help with?
Does Shockwave Therapy hurt?
You will feel a rhythmic tapping sensation that can be mildly uncomfortable over sore tissue. Intensity is adjusted to your comfort, and most people tolerate treatment well. Mild soreness for a day or two afterward is normal.
How many sessions will I need?
Most conditions respond within 3–6 sessions, usually one week apart. Your practitioner will review your progress and adjust the plan as you go.
Is there any downtime?
No. You can walk out and resume normal daily activities immediately. We recommend avoiding intense exercise on the treated area for 24–48 hours after each session.
Is Shockwave Therapy covered by extended health benefits?
Shockwave is usually billed as part of a Physiotherapy or Chiropractic visit, which many extended health plans cover. Please check with your provider or ask our front desk.
